TVA 26A Permit Preparation

Free TVA Permit Preparation from the Masters

Don't Get Bogged Down In The Paperwork

The team at Tennessee Dock Masters believes that building a dock should be a good experience from the very beginning - so we will handle all the paperwork and the communication with TVA on your behalf for no charge so you can focus on the things that matter – even if you don’t hire us to build your dock or stabilize your shoreline. No strings attached and no fine print. All you will pay is the application fee that TVA requires when the permit is submitted.

Who Needs a Permit?

Section 26a of the TVA Act requires that a permit be attained before any shoreline construction activities - such as building a dock or stabilizing the shoreline - begin. Tennessee Dock Masters has successfully helped hundreds of homeowners navigate the application and permit process. With us as your Authorized Agent, you can rest easy knowing we are here to help guide you every step of the way.

Whether you are building a fixed or floating dock, building an addition on your dock, stabilizing the shoreline, or running irrigation lines from the lake, you must have permit approval from TVA. The application process can be tedious and overwhelming, and any errors can delay the approval process. With our free permit preparation service, there is no reason for you to do it alone.

The TVA Permit Procedure

Call The Masters

Tennessee Dock Masters will talk to you about your project and advise whether or not a new 26A permit is required. For the most part, all construction or alterations to the shoreline on TVA reservoirs require TVA approval. Even minor changes to the dock can need a new permit.

TVA 26A Permit Application

If a new permit is required, we will get all the necessary information from you to fill out the application and simply get you to sign the form. We will even handle preparing all the necessary drawings that need to be submitted with the application.

Submit Application

After completing the required 26a application, it is time to submit the application. We will collect the application fee from you (typically $1,000) and mail the form to TVA along with the check.

Site Visit

After applying for the proposed dock, TVA will schedule and conduct a site visit to the proposed location.

Waiting

TVA attempts to issue permits within 100 – 120 days once a complete 26A permit is submitted, but depending on volume of applications and which lake you are applying for a permit on, you could expect a 5 - 7 month waiting period at times. However, even further delays can occur if your application is incomplete, modifications to your construction plans are made after the permit is submitted, or additional information is needed for TVA.

Approval

Once TVA finalizes their environmental and programmatic review, they will issue your permit.

Welcome To Dock Life

Once TVA issues your shoreline permit, Tennessee Dock Masters can begin construction on your dream dock.
